About this Event
Detroit Prohibition River Tour and Dinner Cruise
Get ready for an unforgettable in-person adventure on the 2026 Detroit Prohibition River Tour and Dinner Cruise! Cruise along the river while while your guide, Marion, regales you with stories of those men and women who saw Prohibition as an economic opportunity! She will also point out the former hot spots of activity along both the Detroit and Windsor side of the River!
During Prohibition, Detroit took advantage of its location on the international border. With 75% of liquor entering the United States through the "Detroit-Windsor Funnel," the Detroit River became the epicenter of the booze smuggling trade. This is a very special boat tour on the Detroit River.
On the largest of the Diamond Jack boats, we will cruise to the eastern end of the Detroit River, then west past the Ambassador Bridge. All the while, guests will enjoy a buffet dinner, dessert, coffee, and soft drinks.
There will be a cash bar available--what's a Prohibition tour without booze? There will also be prizes! Every attendee receives a Prohibition-themed gift!
On display will be your guide's collection of Prohibition artifacts--including a still recovered from a raid in Wyandotte during Prohibition. In addition, an array of items recovered from the bottom of the Detroit River from the Detroit Harbormaster's Office and Detroit Police Museum will be on display (including the ever-popular body hook).
The tour leaves from the foot of Joseph Campau Street, Detroit, Michigan 48207. The dock does't have a street address, for best results use 500 Stroh's River Place, Detroit, MI 48207. We will have your name on our roster when you arrive. No passport needed to take this tour. Ages: 18 and up. Questions? Send an email to [email protected].
Parking is on-street or at the garage on Wight Street (the charge is around $10).
No refunds.
