About this Event

Enjoy lunch that funds clean water where this is needed.

Join us for a delicious and meaningful lunch at The Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown Toronto on Friday, May 8, 2026.

During this special Cup for Cup event, the Old Spaghetti Factory has generously committed to donate $10 for every entrée purchased during this event to go towards this cause to provide sustainable safe drinking water to families in Uganda, East Africa. In 2025, our Cup for Cup event, which was also held at the Old Spaghetti Factory, funded clean water filters for 22 families in Uganda, East Africa! Each of these families will save about $40/year in costs treating water related illnesses for about 25 years.

Canada enjoys one fifth of the world’s fresh water supply. If there is a little bit more water to go around, why not replenish water ‘cup for cup’ where it is desperately needed?

In keeping with our theme, our event beverage partners will be replenishing the water used to prepare their products (coffee, beer, wine, water).

For example, 100% of the water served at your table is replenished by ensuring an equivalent amount of water is purified in Uganda by water purifiers that The Old Spaghetti Factory helped families to purchase.

Similarly:

  • Cowbell Brewing Co. is replenishing the 3.5 litres of water that it takes to brew each litre of beer for its restaurant at their brewery in Blyth, Ontario,
  • Southbrook Vineyards is replenishing the water used to operate the facility producing their wines in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, and
  • Reunion Coffee Roasters is replenishing the water used to operate their roaster in Oakville as well as the water used to decaffeinate their coffee at Swiss Water

Want to Help Further?

If you or your company would like to become a Cup for Cup member, as little as $10/month, or $120/year will help one family per year purchase a water purifier and gain access to safe water. Over its 25-year life lifespan, each water purifier cleans the equivalent annual water consumption of one Canadian household. In other words, you could replace each litre of potable water used here by ensuring that a litre of water is purified where it is needed. Amazingly, this will save each family about $1,000 (in treating water-related illnesses) over the lifespan of the water purifier. Contact us to learn how to become a member!

If you'd like to make a donation to SWSV and you don't require a charitable tax receipt, the Eventbrite registration has an option to donate to the project.

If you prefer a tax receipt, you can donate to SWSV through Canada Helps *See below details on how to donate* and then return to continue your registration to the event.

When donating through Canada Helps, select "Enviro-Stewards' Safe Water Social Ventures" from the dropdown menu (see illustration below).
