Congressman Jason Smith (‘04)
Congressman Jason Smith graduated from OCU Law in 2004 and was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2005, ultimately rising to Majority Whip and Speaker Pro Tempore. In 2013, he was elected in a special election to represent Missouri’s 8th District in Congress. In January of 2023, he became Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee. Ways & Means is historically considered one of the most powerful committees in Congress, as it has jurisdiction over all tax legislation, all of which must originate in the House.
Congressman Tim Moore (‘95)
Congressman Tim Moore graduated from OCU Law in 1995 and was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2002. He became Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2015 and served in that role for a decade. In 2024, he was elected to Congress and began representing North Carolina’s 14th District in January of 2025.
