About this Event
The more we learn about the ocean, the more we learn how much we need to protect it!
Focused on ocean literacy, the Blue Marble Series aims to take young people on adventures deep below sea level through both fantasy stories and the facts that inspire the tales.
Beneath the Surface is the 1st novel in the series, and follows 11 year old Xing Xing into the South China Sea after she discovers a special power that allows her to connect with ocean life.
Please join me on March 27th for the 2nd event of the tour. In this event for the Gainesville community, you can enjoy a short reading from author, Carissa Welton, who found her inspiration SCUBA diving in Asia and mentoring Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots groups in China.
In addition to the reading, readers will have a chance to interact with the story through interactive and collaborative activities (designed for ages 10+)
