✨ Join Us for the 2026 Art Meets Poetry Weekend! ✨February 6–7, 2026 | Collin County History Museum

Where art and poetry come together in a celebration of creativity, connection, and community! This year, the Art Meets Poetry event brings the full experience under one roof — the exhibition, opening reception, and live poetry showcase will all take place at the Collin County History Museum. Come be inspired, meet local creatives, and experience the magic that happens when visual art and spoken word meet.
Throughout the weekend, you’ll see pairings of artwork and poetry inspired by each other — a creative exchange where imagery and language interplay in compelling and unexpected ways. On Saturday, you’ll also have the opportunity to hear directly from the artists and poets as they share their work, process, and inspiration with the community. (Saturday speaker schedule TBA.)

• Poetry readings + artist talks throughout the day (Speaking schedule to be announced soon.)
• Enjoy wine + light snacks
• Seating provided (stay as long as you like!)
• People’s Choice + raffle continue
• Winners announced at closing
• Charitable donations collected to support community causes

✨ Congrats to Art Club of McKinney artist Melody Lewis! Her piece The Reader — acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, 16" × 20" — has been named Winner of the Art Meets Poetry Art Contest and will appear on all promotional materials for the 2026 Art Meets Poetry Exhibit & Showcase. The Reader beautifully captures the spirit of Art Meets Poetry with its focus on reading, lyrical composition, and magical, ethereal quality. This annual art contest invites artists to submit work for a chance to be featured on all Art Meets Poetry event marketing and promo materials—thank you to the 37+ artists who entered this year!
