About this Event
Join us on Saturday, March 15th at 9:30am for a sustainability-focused Course Strategy Session with NYRR Coaches and former elite marathoner & climate activist, Tina Muir, and after, at 10am, for a 2-mile plog led by NYRR Coaches, Staff, and Tina Muir.
This activity will introduce new movements into your run while helping clean up our planet. It's perfect to do as a pre-race shakeout! Let's raise the incredible 60-person attendance we had for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon!
Plogging refers to the act of picking up trash while running. The expression stems from the Swedish term "plocka upp" meaning "to pick up" and is combined with the English term “jogging”.
No plogging experience is required, and runners of all paces are welcome.
NYRR will provide compostable bags and gloves to all registered ploggers. Restrooms and lockers (on a first-come, first-served basis) will be available.
We will be plogging rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.
