The St. Louis Regional Freightway is hosting the fourth annual Take Flight Forum, reuniting the directors of the five busiest airports in the bi-state St. Louis region and convening an impressive panel featuring representatives of regional STEM and flight training programs helping to inspire the next generation of aerospace & aviation professionals.
The forum is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m., and will include two components.
- Updates from the directors of the region's five busiest airports, including Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, Director, St. Louis Lambert International Airport; Sandra Shore, Director, St. Louis Downtown Airport; Darren James, Director, MidAmerica St. Louis Airport; John Bales, Director, Spirit of St. Louis Airport; Daniel Adams, Director, St. Louis Regional Airport
- A panel discussion featuring Dr. Jennifer Kephart, Superintendent or the School District of Washington, Missouri, and Yolandea Wood, who will be representing both the Organization of Black Aerospace Professional’s (OBAP’s) St. Louis Aerospace Career Excellence (ACE) Academy and the Hugh J. White Tuskegee Airmen Chapter STL, Tuskegee Airmen Incorporated.
The event will be moderated by Mary Lamie, Executive Vice President of Multimodal Enterprises, Bi-State Development.

Event Details: The St. Louis Regional Freightway will bring together these industry leaders for an insightful discussion that reinforces the strength of the region’s aerospace and aviation ecosystem and highlights some of the focused efforts to engage students in the opportunities that ecosystem offers. The airport directors will provide updates on recent developments at their respective facilities and preview what’s ahead. The second panel will delve into several programs introducing middle and high-school students to the magic of flight and laying the foundation for amazing careers in aerospace and aviation.
