About this Event
It is with pleasure that the League of Women Voters of Yolo County invites you to the 2025 State of the Community luncheon. This event was founded by the League of Women Voters of Woodland in 1994, making this our 31st year. Now sponsored by our newly expanded League of Women Voters encompassing all of Yolo County, this annual luncheon is our major fundraising event of the year.
The 2025 State of the Community luncheon will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM. Catered by Treasure Dragon Chinese Restaurant, it will be held at the California Agricultural Museum, 1958 Hays Lane, Woodland. Our featured speaker this year is Yolo County Supervisor Lucas Frerichs. Supervisor Frerichs began a four-year term on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors in January 2023 and represents the City of Winters, the central and western portions of the City of Davis, the campus of the University of California at Davis, and the rural land of southwestern Yolo County. Lucas earlier served as Mayor and City Council Member for the City of Davis from 2012-22 and also served as State Policy Director of The Nature Conservancy’s California chapter from 2017-2023.
As a Yolo County Supervisor, Lucas Frerichs is committed to advancing policy that promotes the ability of families, in all their forms, to have their basic needs met in safe, connected communities where there is opportunity for personal fulfillment, and access to protected natural resources. He will speak about Yolo County Agriculture, Business, Immigration, Housing and Healthcare as well as opportunities for success.
Continuing our long history as a grassroot, nonpartisan organization, The League of Women Voters of Yolo County will carry on the League’s work of encouraging voter participation and citizen engagement in key community issues and activities. Our current members from Davis and Woodland look forward to welcoming new members from West Sacramento, Winters and our county’s rural communities. Your support is critical to our endeavors, and we invite you to be part of this special event and join with other community members to celebrate the State of the Community.
Please purchase your tickets on Eventbrite or make out your checks to: League of Women Voters of Woodland, P.O. Box 2463, Woodland, CA 95776. Luncheon reservations must be received by February 19, 2025. NOTE: do not send until website finalized
