About this Event
Join Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and his Veterans Advisory Council in paying tribute to our nation's heroes and standing together as a community to honor their service and sacrifice.
On Friday, September 19 at 10:30 a.m. in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, the community is invited to attend the 2025 POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony to honor United States military prisoners of war and those still missing in action as part of national POW/MIA Day.
Hosted by WKMG News 6, Trooper Steve Montiero, this year's event highlights special guest speaker, retired Army First Class Jessica Lynch. In 2003, she was injured and captured by Iraqi forces after her unit was ambushed in Iraq. Jessica’s rescue was the first successful rescue of an American POW since World War II. The ceremony is a tribute to the United States military prisoners of war and those still missing in action, reaffirming the city's commitment to bringing our heroes home and ensuring that they are never forgotten.
Complimentary parking will be available in the City Commons Garage, 460 Boone Avenue and will be validated at the event.
Doors open at 10 a.m. with coffee and refreshments available.
