Join Linfield University for a special evening with award-winning author and journalist Omar El Akkad.El Akkad, winner of the 2025 National Book Award for his nonfiction book One Day, Everyone Will Always Have Been Against This, will visit Linfield for a public conversation with Linfield professors Reshmi Dutt-Ballerstadt and Rachel Norman. The discussion will explore themes from his latest work, followed by a book signing with the author.
El Akkad is a two-time recipient of both the Pacific Northwest Booksellers’ Award and the Oregon Book Award. His debut novel, American War, was named by the BBC as one of 100 novels that shaped our world.
This event is free and open to the public. Community members, students, alumni and guests are encouraged to attend.
