CONFIDENT, PERSUASIVE WRITING: Rhetoric and Coherence for Judges and Litigators
Please join the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the Atlanta Chapter of the Federal Bar Association for the 2025 legal writing seminar. Featuring Timothy P. Terrell, Professor of Law Emeritus at Emory University and a leading expert on legal writing and legal reasoning, this seminar will cover topics including structure and organization of legal writing, principles of rhetoric and persuasion, stylistic considerations, and more. This is an advanced writing workshop intended for all experience levels.
The event will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the State Bar of Georgia conference center. The formal program will begin at 9, with registration and light breakfast starting at 8:15.
Tickets are $200, or $125 for current members of the Federal Bar Association, excluding Eventbrite fees that we do not control. FBA membership status will be confirmed prior to the event. As always, there is no charge for judges and law clerks in the federal judicial system to attend. Judges and law clerks should RSVP through their Court Executive or by contacting Jenn Coalson; please do not use the links below.
Registration includes light breakfast and lunch. Parking is complimentary with validation for State Bar members. We have requested 6.5 hours of Georgia CLE credit for this program, and upon request, the FBA will provide CLE completion certificates for attendees seeking CLE credit in other jurisdictions.
Due to limited capacity and high demand, registrations are non-refundable but may be transferred to another individual in the event the original registrant is unable to attend.
Please contact Jenn Coalson ([email protected]) with any questions about this event. We look forward to seeing you on September 16th!
