About this Event

WE'RE EXCITED...OUR NEW LOCATION!

The National Association of Minority Contractors—Washington, DC Metropolitan Area Chapter (NAMC-WMAC), the Baltimore DC Metro Building Trades Council (BDCBT), and the District of Columbia Army National Guard (DCNG) formed a collaboration to host the “2025 Jobs Not Guns and Jobs Not Drugs Citywide Recruitment and Resource Fair,” with the support of Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie, DC Councilmember At-Large. The event will be held at the Events Pavilion at The Fields at RFK Campus, 401 Oklahoma Avenue, NE, Washington, DC 20002, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Sam Ford, retired WJLA-TV 7 commentator will serve as Master of Ceremonies, and the Washington Commanders will participate as our “Special Guest.”

EMERGENCY CIRCUMSTANCES

As we reported, the team was notified that the District of Columbia Armory was no longer available due to the mobilization of the DC National Guard and out-of-state National Guard units in response to the President of the United States’ crime intervention efforts in the District of Columbia. The team strongly urged the coalition of DCNG’s involvement to include the personnel from other jurisdictions, creating a partnership to combat two of the most pressing public safety crises in our city: gun violence and drug abuse. Unfortunately, our desire for collaboration with all of the National Guard to participate did not occur.

OUR GOAL

With the support of At-Large Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie, Events DC,the and the Washington Commanders, the event is relocated to The Fields at RFK Campus. Our goal continues to provide opportunities for employment, training and support services for District residents designed to overcome barriers to careers and build a strong workforce that is job-ready. This will ultimately lead to a decrease in the number of perpetrators of gun violence and the prevention of drug usage in the Nation’s Capital. REMINDER!!! The Recruitment and Resource Fair is open and free to ALL…exhibitors and attendees ages 16 and over. Sponsorships are available; NAMC-WMAC is a 501©6 non-profit corporation, contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
