Learn the basics to wheel throwing and help you perfect your throwing skills.Using the wheel is a fun relaxing therapy. It is a skill that requires some practice and mastering but you can expect to make some bowls, cups, small vessels and a small plate.
We will spend 5 weeks on the wheel.
Week 6 will be Glazing your pieces (this will be completed once all pieces have been bisque fired). Students will choose up to 10 pieces to be glazed and fired.
In Week 6 Glazing colour combinations, we will conduct an introduction into glaze making and explore some glazing options and combinations for your pieces.
We will learn in a relaxing environment similar to the Clay and Sip classes.
Classes are limited to 5 people for a more hands on experience with the teacher.
What to bring: please bring a towel and short nails.
What to wear: Clay may get a bit messy, please wear clothing that is okay to have clay splatters.
Firing Fees: are included in Course price.
Extra Costs: Beginner Pottery tool kit $14.00, and 1 x bag clay $28.00
Pottery Breakage Clay is a fickle medium- We take great care in looking after all students' pieces- but the nature of Pottery is that it can break for many reasons. No refunds are provided in the unfortunate event that your pottery breaks or cracks in the kiln. Pottery is a very delicate process.
Refunds Please note that by purchasing this ticket you are securing a spot at an event that is usually booked out. We do not refund for cancellations. We will only refund in the event of a Covid Lockdown. If you cannot make it, there are strictly no makeup classes for this course.
Please note class dates. Classes run weekly with a few weeks break before the final glazing class.
