Mark your calendars for the annual Central Chapter Native Plant Sale on Saturday, May 10th! This year, we’ll be back at the Reisch Pavilion (also known as Food-o-Rama) at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Get ready for the largest native plant sale in the region, featuring an impressive selection of native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants, all perfect for creating a wildlife-friendly habitat at home. All plants are grown from local seed sources, when available, by our dedicated chapter members and local nurseries. The 2025 species list will be posted online at https://illinoisplants.org/central-chapter-plant-sale/. In the meantime, you can view last year's list to get ideas. If this is your first time attending, be sure to arrive early—quantities are limited and popular species tend to sell out fast, though we’re working hard to increase quantities this year!
Proceeds from the sale benefit the chapter’s grant program, which supports a range of native plant projects carried out by local organizations, schools, graduate students, and more. To learn how your project can apply for an INPS grant, visit https://illinoisplants.org/central-chapter-grant-info/.
Interested in volunteering? We need help with everything from preparation and propagation to advertising and sale day assistance. If you'd like to lend a hand or have any questions, please contact our sale chair, Mary Ring, at 217-243-6055 or [email protected].
We look forward to seeing you there and helping you grow your native plant garden!
