Twelfth Quinquennial Constituency Session of the Hawaii Conference
About this Event

The purpose of this meeting is to receive reports; elect conference officers, the executive committee, and the bylaws committee; and to transact any other business that may properly come before the delegates in session.

Delegates are integral to our constituency session. We are grateful for each delegate who has consented to represent their church for the Twelfth Quinquennial Constituency Session of the Hawaii Conference. Delegates are selected by each individual church in accordance with procedures stated on pages 120-121 of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Manual [2022 revision] as well as by the conference's bylaws. There are different types of delegates.

Regular Delegates

The Hawaii Conference Bylaws state that "Each organized church shall be represented by one (1) delegate and one (1) additional delegate for each forty (40) members, or major fraction thereof and who hold membership in the local church which accredits them." The attached spreadsheet lists the maximum allotted number of Regular Delegates for each church.

Delegates-at-large

In selecting your Regular Delegates, please keep in mind that there are also Delegates-at-large. Delegates-at-large are:

  • Employees holding credentials from the Hawaii Conference (pastors, teachers, and etc.)
  • Current members of the Hawaii Conference Executive Committee
  • Current members of the Hawaii Conference Constitution and Bylaws Committee

Alternate Delegates

Alternate Delegates are chosen by the local church to step in and serve as a Regular Delegate in the event a Regular Delegate is unable to attend the session. Your church may select as many Alternate Delegates as you wish. We encourage you to be generous in the number that you choose in that Alternate Delegates often end up serving as Regular Delegates. Please note, however, that an Alternate Delegate needs to be chosen by your church in order to substitute a Regular Delegate.

We need to have the names of your church's approved Constituency Delegates and Organizing Committee representatives by June 1, 2025; this will enable us to abide by stipulations in the conference bylaws. Submitting delegate names earlier will, of course, be appreciated. The preferred method of submission is through Eventbrite.

Correspondence with delegates will be largely done by email unless an email address is not provided. Please include the following information:

  • Church
  • Name of Delegate (First Name, Last Name)
  • Delegate Category (Regular, Alternate, Organizing Committee)
  • Contact Information (Mailing Address, phone, email)

Transportation for Neighbor Island Delegates: Travel arrangements will be done through the Hawaii Conference's Hawaiian Airlines Corporate Account. Please provide:

  • Which island
  • Full legal name as it appears on their ID
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth
  • Hawaiian Airlines Miles account numbers, if applicable
  • Known Travel Number, if applicable
  • Choose if delegates need transportation from and to the Honolulu Airport

Please feel free to contact Judi Jeffreys at [email protected] or call (808) 595-7591 x116 in the event you have any questions or difficulties.

Thank you in advance for providing the above information. I trust you and your church/es will be praying for God to bless this constituency meeting with His Presence. No other plans, in the end, will truly prosper without His leading.
