The Hasentree Club is hosting our Charity Classic Golf Tournament as well as our Charity Concert and Food Truck Rally on Saturday, August 23rd. Our Charity Classic events are open to the public and aim to bring the communities of Wake Forest and the Research Triangle Park together to support phenomenal charities. This year’s event will benefit the Riley John’s Blue Boot Foundation and the Invited Employees Care Foundation, two organizations dedicated to saving lives and supporting those in need. The Blue Boot Foundation was created in memory of Riley John Bourgeois, whose life was tragically lost in a drowning accident. What began as a personal tragedy has transformed into a mission to educate, advocate, and implement critical water safety measures to prevent similar heartbreak for other families. Additionally, the Invited Employee Care Foundation provides essential support to employees facing unexpected crises, such as loss, hardship, or illness, ensuring that those who dedicate their lives to serving others receive help when they need it most.
This year’s event is especially close to our hearts, as we also honor the memory of Cooper Smith, the 3-year-old son of our Golf Course Superintendent, Daniel and his wife, Nicky Smith. This last November, Cooper tragically lost his life in a drowning accident, leaving a lasting impact on our entire community. In the wake of this unimaginable loss, our members and community rallied together, raising over $90,000 and just five days to support the Smith family. Now, we continue that spirit of giving through the 2025 Hasentree Charity Classic, where proceeds, will benefit the Blue Boot Foundation in Cooper’s memory. Your sponsorship will not only provide critical funding for water safety education, and family support, but it will also serve as a powerful tribute to the lives of Cooper and Riley John, ensuring their stories drive lasting change.
We are moved to do our part in supporting and serving these causes and ask for your help. There are a variety of ways to contribute by signing up to play, attending the concert, or making a donation.
