The Growing Our Future – Annual Forestry Meeting has become a valued gathering for the forest management community, providing a space for professionals and landowners to connect, learn, and share expertise. Each year, industry leaders and researchers present valuable insights to help advance sustainable forestry and land management.
As we continue to enhance this event, we are excited to announce a new location for this year’s meeting: the Phillips Market Center. This venue will provide an improved setting for networking, learning, and collaboration, ensuring an even more engaging and productive experience for all attendees.

Using Portable Sawmills to Create Niche Markets for Forest Landowners

Info: The interest in portable sawmills has dramatically increased since the Covid-19 pandemic. This presentation will show examples of cost and productivity across multiple species from a recent study in the Clemson Experimental Forest. We will also discuss lumber drying options, marketing avenues, recent successes, and the physical effort needed to produce lumber.

Developing Prescribed Burn Associations

Info: In order to implement more prescribed burning across the state, PBAs are developing to share knowledge, personnel, and equipment. People come together to learn from each other and share time in the woods burning. We will discuss where to find financial and logistical support if you are interested in developing a PBA and what is working for the newly formed Aiken Prescribed Fire Cooperative.
