Join Us in Dallas For a Journey to Self
The experience of being separated from original family is an isolating one. Left alone with thoughts unexpressed, it's hard to 'be ourselves' if we're not sure who that is, and limits our ability to freely explore our feelings in relative safety*.
This retreat is meant to be an opportunity for people who have experienced family separation trauma to reflect, heal, and participate in deliberate community with others who share a core experience. Adults who were adopted as children, experienced foster care, and other family separation experiences are welcome. Connect with other like minded folks, deepen your self care skills, learn new ways to express yourself, and have fun. You're also welcome to just not think about it for a bit!
*A note: While no one can guarantee that any particular space is universally "safe" for all, we can ensure that staff/volunteers will be present to provide: an attitude of openness, vulnerability, and advocacy if necessary; options and outlets for people who might not feel safe/welcomed in the moment.
We are thrilled to be providing this retreat for the 3rd year! Due to the world being on fire and some other variables, this year the retreat will be one day. Participants are welcome to stay in the area and connect with other attendees to make a weekend of it.
Registration includes:
- Lunch provided by hosts
- Coffee, snacks, and beverages
- Workshop facilitators and supplies
- Labyrinth activity
- Facility fees
- All the feels + lots of laughter
We look forward to meeting you and enjoying a relaxing day together. Let's go!
