JAZZ FESTIVAL DAYTIME WORKSHOPS
Join us for Daytime Workshops during our Second Annual Jazz Festival! Our day begins with an opening performance followed by music workshops, lunch at the Cougar Cafe in the Student Center, an exciting masterclass, tour of the Visual and Performing Arts Center, and more.
Open to middle and high school students with two or more years of experience on their instrument, workshops focus on playing by ear along with improvisation in small groups (combo). All instruments are welcome and prior jazz and/or improvisation experience is not necessary. Upon completion, you receive free entry to the evening concert performance!
Tentative Schedule
- 10:00 to 10:45 AM - Opening performance
- 11:00 to 12:15 PM - Combo rehearsals and workshops
- 12:15 to 1:00 PM - Lunch at the Cougar Jazz Cafe (Student Center)
- 1:15 to 3:00 PM - Combo rehearsals and workshops
- 3:15 to 5:00 PM - Guest artist masterclass, clinics
- 5:00 to 7:00 PM - Dinner at the Cougar Jazz Cafe (Student Center)
- 7:30 PM - Guest artist concert

Open to the public and featuring FCC student and faculty musical performances! Bring your own meal or make a purchase from our food truck (vendor tba).

- Participation in the daytime workshops is free of charge. Click the Reserve a Spot button above to register for this program.

JAZZ FESTIVAL EVENING CONCERT
Did you hear? To top off our day of music and continue the celebration, our Jazz Festival also includes an evening concert in the JBK Theater at 7:30 p.m. Be sure to invite family, friends, and community guests to join you for this special performance by our soon-to-be-announced guest artist!
