The 2024 Uppity Awards will be held at the Commodore Barry Club in Mt Airy on October 19th.
The Uppity Awards started by the Uptown Standard Newspaper in 2021 to recognize individuals andorganizations that have made a direct impact in the lives of residents in the Uptown section ofPhiladelphia includes the neighborhoods of: Mount Airy, Germantown, West Oak Lane, East Oak Lane, Cedarbrook, East Germantown, Fern Rock, and Ogontz.
In 2023, we added the Urban Xpressions Awards. To honor individuals in the film, music, media, and entertainment industries.
