2024 Spring Fling 5K Poker Ride/Run Fundraiser

Horses (riding or driving!), Pack Burros, Bikers, Runners, and Hikers Welcome!

Join us at Bear Creek Regional Park for a great multi-user trail event! Bring the family (leashed dogs are welcome too!), meet other trail users and have a great time enjoying one of our best parks at this unique non-speed event. All funds go toward building and maintaining the Equestrian Skills Course. Prizes in every category (special prize category for 18 and under) - anyone can win!

How Does It Work?

Arrive between 8:30am and 9:30am giving yourself enough time to complete the course by 11:15 am. Each participant gets a scorecard to start. You will draw a card at five different checkpoints on the course. Adults will collect scores for a poker hand and participants under 18 will collect stamps for a special prize. Turn your hand in at the finish line. Prizes are given out for the high and low hands in each category. Prizes also for the oldest participant and furthest distance travelled to the event. You must be present at 11:30am to win a prize!

Price:

$25 in advance. $35 day of event. Registration day of event starts at 8:30am. Event Day Ticket Sales are cash or credit card only - Online sales end April 19 at 8:00pm.

All funds go toward building and maintaining the Equestrian Skills Course in Bear Creek Regional Park. Event is subject to trail conditions and may be modified to meet event-day COVID-19 regulations. Check Facebook or our website for latest updates the day before the event. All online registrations will receive email notice in event of modification or cancellation.

Parking:

Norris-Penrose Event Center, 1045 Lower Gold Camp Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80905. Please follow signs and parking volunteers to your designated parking area.

7:30am - Parking opens

8:30-9:30 - Check-In/Event Day Registration Opens

9:00 - Course Opens

11:15 - Course Closes

11:30 - Awards at Equestrian Skills Course - MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!

FAQs

Do I need a Coggins test or health certificate for my horse?

- No.

Are horse-drawn vehicles (carts/buggies/carriages/wagons) allowed?

- The trails we use for event are 8-10-foot wide. Horse-drawn vehicles are permitted for this SPECIAL EVENT ONLY! Horse-drawn vehicles are prohibited on Bear Creek Regional Park trails all other days of the year.

Do you have group discounts?

- Yes, for groups with 5 participants or more. Email [email protected] for more information.

Can I bring my dog to the event?

- Yes! Your well-behaved, LEASHED dog is welcome!

Will there be water available?

- Bottled water (1 per participant) will be available at the finish. Please bring additional water for horses, burros and dogs.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

- Anyone is eligible to participate! Participants under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Kids will participate by collecting stamps or stickers at each card station. All participants under 18 will receive a prize when they turn in their full score cards.

What can I bring into the event?

- Bring clothing and/or equipment appropriate for your category.

What's the refund policy?

- Sorry. This is a fundraiser so there are no refunds.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

- Please bring your printed ticket (or e-ticket on your phone) to the event.

Can I update my registration information?

- Yes. Changes can be made up to April 18 by emailing [email protected].

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

- Yes, please change prior to April 18 by emailing [email protected]. Other transfers can be made at check-in for your category at the event.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

- Yes. However, to streamline check-in on event day, please notify management by April 18 if possible by emailing [email protected].
