What should I expect?
Volunteers may help us set up tables, unload food, distribute groceries and fresh produce to clients, and clean up. Some repeated bending and heavy lifting may be required.
Parking may be limited, so carpooling is advised. Second Harvest is not responsible for your valuables, so please leave all valuables in the trunk of your car.

Mask use is optional and encouraged indoors. Outdoor distributions do not require masks.
What should I wear and bring?
Masks are optional and encouraged if indoors.
Wear closed toed shoes. Long pants are highly recommended but not required. Sleeveless shirts and sandals are not permitted.
Please tie back long hair and avoid wearing loose or dangly jewelry.
Wear comfortable clothing and if needed, bring sunglasses, sunscreen and hats. Dress for the weather as most distributions are entirely outdoors and may not protected from sun, wind or rain.
Bring water and snacks. It can get very hot and volunteering involves physical activity. Come prepared so you can keep your energy level up!
I need documentation of my volunteer service. What should I do?
Tell your site leader when you arrive that you need service hour documentation and check in with them before you leave so they can sign your timecard.
We do not write letters, sign third party forms, or electronically confirm hours on a third party platform. See our volunteer timekeeping policy. A volunteer timecard is available for your use.
