Consider it a perfect reason to take your motorcycle out for a spin.
In traditional poker, players receive five cards each, with the highest hand claiming victory. Combine this with a leisurely motorcycle journey, and you have the essence of a poker run.
The adventure starts when you sign in, collecting a scorecard and a route map. Along this route, there are typically five stops where you will draw a card at each. The card drawn is recorded on your scorecard before you head to the next stop. Just like in poker, the participant with the strongest hand at the conclusion is crowned the victor. This is when the debates might start, with discussions over whether a full house ranks above a royal flush and so forth.
Poker runs attract diverse participants, encompassing every kind of biker and biking style - from cruisers and classic bikes to sportbikes and touring motorcycles like the Gold Wing. This event is universal and appealing to all bike types, brands, and riding preferences. Almost every weekend, in any state, there's likely a poker run happening, whether on paved roads, off-road trails, or a combination of both in dual-sport events.
The entry fees collected at poker runs serve a greater purpose: 100% of the proceeds go to the VFW Post 641 and the community or aid Veterans facing financial difficulties or emergencies.
