A chess tournament hosted by Ida Taylor Elementary in Santa Maria. Open to current scholastic students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.About this Event
This event is open to all scholastic players through high school. We will have three sections:
- Kindergarten thru 3rd grade
- K - 6th grade (younger players may want to "play up" for an extra challenge).
- K - 12th grade, USCF Rated (a current USCF ID is required for this section - visit ).
Players will play 5 rounds of chess. Each player will have 30 minutes to finish their game - maximum of one hour per game (younger players rarely take that long).
Writing down moves is required in the Rated section. Please bring a clock if you have one.
We will have trophies for top players in each section. There will also be a team plaque for the top team.
