About this Event
In April 1965, Rosalind Blair and Jest Us hosted an event at Club La Marchal, putting Brooklyn jazz on the map. Their legacy continues through "Jazz: The Women's Viewpoint," celebrating women's roles in jazz. Initiated in the late 1990s, it showcases black women's contributions to the genre, featuring panel discussions and performances. Rosalind Blair's passion for exploring women's roles in jazz endures, keeping the tradition alive in Bedford-Stuyvesant after 20 years. Join us on May 18th for an evening where we honor the "2024 Jazz Women of Courage" for their remarkable contributions to keeping Jazz Alive.
