2024 Houston Nutrition & Obesity Research Symposium

Nutritional disorders, including obesity, are on the rise at an alarming rate. Texas ranks among the top ten states in the U.S. for obesity, with the greater Houston area leading the state. As home to over 60 medical institutions, Houston is rapidly becoming a hub for clinical, translational, and basic research in nutrition, obesity, and metabolic disorders.

To foster cross-institutional collaborations and develop multi-center research networks, the Houston Nutrition Obesity Research Center is excited to announce the second annual Houston Nutrition & Obesity Research Symposium. This one-day event will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Levit Green (2505 Greensboro Dr, Houston, TX 77021), generously sponsored by Sino Biological US, Inc.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Holly Ingraham, Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences, as our keynote speaker.

Nutrition and obesity researchers are invited to share their recent research through oral and poster presentations.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee/snacks will be provided throughout the day.

Please send poster abstracts to [email protected] by November 1 and note the following:

1. Use the subject line "Abstract-2024 Houston Nutrition & Obesity Research Symposium" in the e-mail, and attach your abstract as a word file.
2. Include the title of the abstract.
3. Include the names and affiliations of authors, and underline the name of the presenter.
4. Limit the technical section of the abstracts to 250 words or less.
5. Organizers will select a few abstracts for short talks and the presenters will be contacted prior to event date.
6. For all abstracts (including those selected for short talks), please prepare a poster with 36" inches WIDE and 40" inches HIGH
7. Cash prizes are available for selected abstracts.
