We invite you to join us as we complete our 29th season by celebrating Independence Day with a concert featuring patriotic and Americana themed music that will be fun for the entire family. The concert will be on Thursday, July 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the Park University campus. Our concert will feature patriotic and popular selections, including "America the Beautiful", "Stars and Stripes Forever", and Morton Gould’s variations on "When Johnny Comes Marching Home". Other favorites will include "Buglers’ Holiday" and medleys of music from the Broadway shows "South Pacific" and "Man of La Mancha", as well as the Big Band sounds of Count Basie.Afterwards, check out the Parkville carnival, or just relax on the Park University lawn as you await the fireworks display.
For those wishing for easier access or to avoid the crowds, this same concert will also be presented on Friday, June 28, at 7:00 p.m. at Parkville Presbyterian Church. (819 Main Street in Parkville)
Both concerts are free to the general public. We hope to see you at either one, or both!
Admission is free to both concerts.
