2024 Advocacy Conference

Join us on Saturday, November 2nd from 10:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M, at Metro State University for our sixth annual Advocacy Conference! Students across the seven Minnesota State Universities will gather to hear from local organizers and gain skills to better advocate for themselves and their communities.

There will be a career fair throughout the day, various sessions and workshops to learn about advocacy and a student town hall. Grow your network, learn advocacy and leadership skills, share your opinions on higher education issues, and more.

The speakers and itinerary will be posted as the event draws closer.

Students United offers a sliding scale payment option. This sliding scale is based on our values of accessibility and economic justice. Consider your economic position and select the amount that feels right for you. Think about your personal and family wealth background and select where you best fit. Things to consider would be, is your family paying for some or all of your school? Are you on a government or financial need-based scholarship? For those able to contribute a higher amount of money for their admission, know that your support enables this financial flexibility and empowers us to include as many people at the table as possible.

We ask participants that if they are showing any symptoms of COVID-19 that they do not attend this event. If you have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last two weeks, we ask that you please do not attend. If you have to cancel due to COVID-19-related reasons, we will work with you to provide a refund.

We are also asking participants to take a test a day before the event to confirm that they do not have COVID-19. Masks will be available to those who want them and will not be required during the conference. We will be asking participants to sign a waiver upon arrival to confirm they understand the risk of attending the event.
