This September, the 2022 Render Competition will have narrowed down its applicant pool to the top 14 companies. On September 22, Render Capital will host a Pitch Event to conclude the final selection process and announce the 8 winners who will each be awarded a $100,000 investment. The winners will also pitch their company to the community. The event will take place at the Lynn Family Stadium and includes a keynote address from Katie Blakeley, networking, and a general celebration of the regional startup ecosystem as an official event of Louisville Startup Week.

Keynote Speaker Katie Blakeley

Katie is a passionate entrepreneurial leader with extensive experience in the pet health insurance industry. As part of the founding team of PetFirst Pet Insurance, she championed creative distribution strategies, innovative product enhancements and led aggressive growth for the business. She built and led a high performing team which helped position the business as an attractive acquisition target.

Katie guided a successful sales process resulting in MetLife’s acquisition of PetFirst in January 2020. Inside MetLife she oversaw the integration of PetFirst and positioned the organization for further, more aggressive growth as MetLife Pet Insurance.

Katie lives in Louisville with her husband, two daughters and a terrier mix named “Franklin.”
