About this Event

The Event:

On Saturday, November 19, 2022, NOLA VFW will host our Annual Patron Party. This gala will take place at the home of LTC and Mrs Didly, the historic Anthemion House, 4631 St. Charles Avenue. This special evening will include menu selections from Galatoire’s and Dickie Brennan & Co., cocktails, and a silent auction. This event is our biggest fundraising event of the year. We look forward to you joining us.

Attire:

Mess Dress/Black Tie Optional.

The Venue:

Anthemion: Architect Frank Graveley built this 38-room, 9,300-sq ft building in 1896. It was used as the Japanese consulate from 1938 to shortly after December 7, 1941. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, New Orleanians stormed the consulate to protest while Consul Kenzo Ito and his staff burned paperwork and telegrams. The FBI moved in to protect the building from the mob. By 1947, the Spanish consulate had moved in. Today, it is owned by our gracious hosts.
