"Contemporary Endodontic Topics " - Virtual Presentations via Zoom

“ Cone Beam Imaging – Transforming Treatment Planning in Endodontics ” -Drs. Heather Burbick and Ghazaleh Rezaei

Presentation Objectives:

1. An introduction to the applications of CBCT for treatment planning in Endodontics.

2. Indications for ordering CBCT, advantages and limitations

3. Relevant case reports

Heather E. Burbick, DDS Texas A&M Endodontic Resident – PGY2

Dr. Burbick is a Chicago native who completed her BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2012. After working in oil and gas for several years, she changed careers and applied for dental school. Dr. Burbick completed her DDS at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she graduated with the highest honors. Dr. Burbick decided to pursue specialty training in Endodontics and is currently a second-year post-graduate student at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry.

Ghazaleh Rezaei DMD

Texas A&M University Endodontic ResidentDr. Rezaei is a currently finishing her first year of endodontic residency at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry. She attended University of Nevada Las Vegas where she received her B.S and DMD degree. Prior to moving to Dallas for residency, Dr. Rezaei practiced general dentistry for 2 years.


“ Minimal Invasive Endodontics” - Dr. John W. Gallegos

Presentation Objectives:

An introduction to minimally invasive endodontics with interpretation of current research and case examples.

Strengths and weaknesses of minimally invasive endodontics and future directions.

Dr. Gallegos grew up in Albuquerque, NM and attended the University of Washington in Seattle, WA for his undergraduate studies. After obtaining his B.S. in Medical Technology, Dr. Gallegos attended Creighton University School of Dentistry for his DDS. Following four years in Omaha, Dr. Gallegos practiced general dentistry for 10 years before starting the Endodontic Residency Program at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry.


“ Finding the Elusive MB2 in Maxillary Molars ” Dr. Jessica Rudman

Presentation Objectives

1) An introduction to maxillary molar morphology, with an emphasis on location and incidence of MB2 canal

2) Discussion of techniques used to find MB2 canal, including use of CBCT

Dr. Rudman grew up in Jamestown, Rhode Island and attended Trinity College for her undergraduate studies. After obtaining her B.A. in Classical Studies, Dr. Rudman attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine for her DMD. She began training at the Endodontic Residency Program at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry right after dental school graduation.


Resorption ” - Dr. Jenny Huang,DDS

Presentation Objectives

1. An introduction in resorption and the different kinds of resorption that may occur in a tooth.

2. Treatment and management of resorption cases.

Dr. Huang is a Southern Californian native. She grew up in San Diego, CA and attended the University of California, San Diego for her undergraduate studies majoring in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Afterwards, she moved to Northern California and attended the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry to obtain her DDS. After 4 years of dental school, Dr. Huang moved back to San Diego to complete a 1-year General Practice Residency at the VA San Diego. She is currently a 2nd year Graduate Endodontics resident at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. When she is not providing dental care, you can find her enjoying the outdoors and local eateries.


Endodontic Surgery as a Treatment Option ” - Dr. Ahmed Kassabji

Presentation Objectives:

1) To discuss the indications and risk factors of endodontic microsurgery.

2) To present some endodontic microsurgery cases, and elaborate on the technique and case selection.

Dr. Ahmad Kassabji has a well-rounded background as general dentist who practiced overseas and In the US for 8 years. After completing his DDS degree from the University of Colorado Denver, Dr. Kassabji practiced full scope of general dentistry in Denver, Colorado before pursuing his Graduate Certificate in Endodontics at Texas A and M College of Dentistry in Dallas. He will complete the program at the end of September 2021.


Intentional Replantation” - Dr. Jessica Riccobono,

Presentation Objectives

1) An introduction to what intentional replantation is, when it is indicated/ contraindicated along with supporting research for prognostic factors associated with this procedure

2) Clinical cases and videos of intentional replantation cases performed by Dr. Riccobono in the Grad Endo Clinic at Texas A&M

Dr. Jessica Riccobono grew up in the sunshine state of Fort Lauderdale, FL and attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL for her undergraduate studies in Biology with a minor in Spanish Language. After graduating from the Swamp (Go Gators), Dr. Riccobono attended Boston University School of Dental Medicine where she received her DMD degree in 2019. After four years in the beautiful city of Boston, Dr. Riccobono packed her bags and headed to Dallas to begin her Endodontic Residency Program at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, and is very excited with just a few short weeks left of her residency program to take her root canal talents to the mile-high city of Denver, Colorado.


This course is approved for 6 hours of ADA CERP CE credit and is a lecture course with multiple presentations. No orthodontic previous training is required to attend the programs.

Time: 9:00am-4:00pm

Location: Your Office of Home Computer- Zoom link to be provided week of the program to those who have registered.

All payments by check or cash are deposited into the Texas A&M account and CANNOT be refunded. “No Shows” for a course forfeit all tuition. Confirm notification of cancellation by e-mail.
