About this Event
2-Part Monotype Printmaking Workshop (Ages 18+)
In this 2-day workshop (Saturday and Sunday), participants will explore monotype printmaking as an experimental and intuitive process for artmaking. We’ll start by learning the basics of applying paint, choosing colors, and generating textures from found objects and plants. After covering the basics, students will explore multiple additive and subtractive techniques. Students will have the opportunity to generate imagery that is representational, abstract, or some combination. While learning and practicing these technical skills, students will be guided by intuitive and process-based instruction with a focus on experimentation rather than precisely calculated outcomes. This will be a fun and experimental class in which students will find they can generate endless possibilities and surprising, often beautiful results.
This workshop will meet 2 times.
