Prāṇa Balancing Yoga is a powerful and therapeutic practice rooted in śaiva-śākta tantra that integrates āsana (posture), prāṇāyāma (breath), and dhyānam (meditation). This all-levels, floor-based sequence (transmitted through traditional folk lineage) cycles between stimulation and relaxation—yin and yang postures are held for approximately 90 seconds each, with 'yoga nidrā' woven in throughout.
The philosophical foundation is śiva consciousness: the recognition that pure, unchanging awareness is the ground of all existence, and that the practitioner is not the doer or the experiencer, but the awareness in which all doing and experiencing arises. Practitioners are guided toward ānanda: the bliss of loving and experiencing reality exactly as it is, independent of circumstance.
Prāṇa is the vital life force that moves through all living beings. When we are relaxed, prāṇa flows freely and abundantly. Prāṇa Balancing Yoga supports nervous system regulation, builds strength, increases breath capacity, and enhances flexibility.
NOTE: This practice is not recommended if you have difficulty lying on your back or belly for extended periods, or if you are pregnant. Please eat a light lunch and allow 1-2 hours for digestion before yoga practice.
