A massive double-header Easter weekend at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway will see the most sought-after Stockcar title in the Manawatu decided, as the 'King of the Arena' is crowned. Add in Midgets for the open-wheel fans, plus all your favourite classes racing, and you have two epic nights of speedway entertainment!
Kicking off on Good Friday is qualifying for the Manawatu Speedway Club Stockcar King of the Arena Championship, along with the Lucas Oil Superstock Series finale, Lucas Oil Super Saloon Series finale, ENZED Midget 30 and the Manawatu Streetstock Championship.
Good Friday promises to be an outstanding night as qualifying gets underway for the Manawatu Speedway Club Stockcar King of the Arena. Local drivers remain among the favourites to take the ultimate title and the massive $3,000 in prize money. With stirrers’ money and championship pride on the line, expect some of the hardest Stockcar racing seen this season.
Current Travel Managers Season Points leader 172p Daniel Burmeister looks a likely podium contender, alongside 48p Josh Mulcahy, 134p Rebecca Barr and 76p Cameron Renwick, who are all at the pointy end of the standings and in with a real shot at the podium. The battle for this title will be intense - tactics will come into play, and only the best will rise to the top. A hard-fought contest will determine the top 32 Stockcars for the championship.
The familiar roar of Superstocks hitting the dirt is an institution in Palmerston North, and a quality field of these fearless drivers is ready to race in the Lucas Oil Superstock Series finale. Four races will feature in the programme - three heats and a final - with $1,000 on offer for the winner. Local drivers will be at the forefront, while visiting competitors aim to spoil their chances.
The Manawatu Streetstock Championship will have fans reminiscing about the glory days of Valiants, Commodores, and Falcons racing side-by-side for prestigious honours. With drivers from across the North Island, this title is always hotly contested and delivers spectacular limited-contact racing.
Super Saloons also join the packed programme for the Lucas Oil Super Saloon Series finale. With wide tyres, V8 engines, and distinctive low sportscar bodies, these machines deliver impressive wheel-to-wheel racing every lap, thrilling both drivers and spectators alike.
Two nights of sensational Midget racing are not to be missed. The weekend begins with the ENZED Midget 30, featuring competitors from across the North Island converging to contest the title. Local hard chargers 93p Karl McGill and 41p Shane Dewar will be doing their utmost to keep the honours at home.
Racing is starting at the earlier time of 5pm!

After Friday night’s qualifying action, there is no doubt that Saturday night’s Stockcar racing will have you on the edge of your seat. With a massive $3,000 in prize money and added incentives for drivers to stir up the championship, it’s set to be the best Stockcar event of the season.
Robertson Prestige International Speedway is home to a number of highly competitive Stockcar drivers, many of whom are genuine title contenders. Will team tactics come into play, or will it come down to individual brilliance to stand atop the podium? Make sure you are trackside to witness this prestigious championship being decided.
Consolation Stockcar races will also feature in the programme for drivers who didn’t make the top 32-car championship field.
The non-stop action continues with sensational Midget racing, going wheel-to-wheel as they compete for the Dewtec Manawatu Midget Championship. With a quality field of drivers who have dialled in their setups from the previous night, this championship is sure to come down to the wire and deliver edge-of-your-seat action. Two massive nights of the best Midget racing the lower North Island has seen in recent times - these speed demons mean business!
