About this Event
In this 2-day advanced course, you’ll learn about running a content design project from start to finish as a team. The course takes you through a scenario based on a fictional brief.
You’ll learn from experienced practising content designers and earn a CDP-accredited certificate. The course is taught online and streamed live from Australia.
This course was previously named Advanced Content Design.
Content design is built around the principles of teamwork. It’s critical to the success of any project, including communicating with your stakeholders and helping them understand your work.
You should have some experience with user needs and journeys and be familiar with user research. The course will support your project management skills in a role, such as:
- content designer,
- UX writer,
- content manager,
- communications manager,
- content strategist.
Building on the Content Design Fundamentals course, you’ll gain experience working as part of a project team. You’ll develop the skills needed to successfully deliver a project.
At the end of the 2 days, you’ll be able to:
- plan a content project from scoping to testing,
- map a user journey from research data,
- understand how to get from a bank of user needs to pieces of content,
- use empathy mapping to inform your content and its tone,
- get to a content taxonomy and content types from research,
- match up business needs and user needs,
- consider UX design and rework a set of content pages,
- have an understanding of how to involve stakeholders and other teams in your work.

Testimonials
For the first time in my content career, I experienced a framework and practices that can scale and will empower me to design user-centered content end to end.
It opened not just new doors or rooms but entire wings of new content design thinking for me. Also, it provided a framework, processes, and practices I can draw upon to work more creatively and collaboratively and manage more effectively not just across disciplines but also across functions. Most importantly, it immersed me in the discipline of user-centered content design.
It's fantastic. Get the whole team on board, not just the content designers. It really shows the rigour involved in our work, and the impact we can make.
Great course with experts who know about content design. They'll be able to guide you through tying your content to your user needs. You'll also be given tips on how to advocate for content design within your organisation. Brilliant course!
It provides a clear way to cut through all the 'bits' content entails to form a cohesive roadmap to follow when you get lost.
Don't hesitate to sign up. This course delved into the nitty gritty of strategy and alignment while also sharing practical templates and methods to bolster a content design practice. I feel so lucky to have been able to attend and to have learned from this group.
