About this Event
Due to our September Comedy Acting Workshop with Gordon Anderson selling out, we are hosting a second run of the 2-day workshop on Friday 15th & Saturday 16th November!
A workshop for actors, comedians, directors and producers interested in developing their skills in screen comedy. We’ll be focusing on the specific requirements of screen acting for comedy, exploring how the camera and the edit affect performance, and how the actor and director can prepare themselves for the set. This workshop isn’t just for funny people, it is also for those yet to unleash their inner funny!
You’ll get the chance to work on exercises and improvisations for screen comedy storytelling, explore the art of building a comedy character, and blocking/choreographing comic routines for the screen. You’ll be working with case studies and scene studies from established TV comedy shows directed by Gordon Anderson – LOVESICK (Netflix), FRESH MEAT (Channel 4), THE INBETWEENERS and THE CATHERINE TATE SHOW (BBC), as well as scene studies from new scripts currently in development. To round off, we’ll put everything into practice by shooting a micro-short on your camera phone.
Date: Friday 15th & Saturday 16th November
Time: 10am – 6pm
Price: £130 (for the full two days)
