All levels, acoustic instruments and vocalist welcome! Join us on the 1st Thursday of each month to meet and jam with other local musicians.
Acoustic Jam Guidelines
1. Diversity and Respecting Everyone
Discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Treat all participants with dignity and respect.
2. Tuning
Tune your instrument before joining the jam. If you need to retune, step away from the jam to avoid disrupting the flow.
3. Respect The Musical Space
Whether you’re playing or listening keep the overall atmosphere relaxed and focused on the music. Avoid distracting behavior or side conversations.
4. Choose Simple Songs
Select songs with simple chords, straightforward melodies, and easy-to-follow structures. This makes it easier for everyone to participate, especially if the group is unfamiliar with the song.
5. Support The Group
Jams are about collaboration, not ego. Listen to others and support their contributions.
6. Take Turns And Collaborate
Everyone will have a chance to choose a song. If you don’t have one, no worries—follow the lead of others. Allow everyone a chance to solo, but keep solos short if there’s a large group.
7. Be Mindful Of Your Volume
Acoustic jams depend on balance. Don’t overpower the group; instead, complement it.
8. Be Encouraging
Create a welcoming space for all skill levels. Offer positive feedback and help if needed.
9. Keep It Positive
Keep the vibe light and fun. Music is about connecting and creative expression.
