Kickin Horse Saloon: CMHA Battle of the BandsMay 1ST-2ND 2026
This event is to create awareness and support for the Canadian Mental
Health Association in the Wood Buffalo area
Objectives:
This competition aims to promote awareness in RMWB of the need
for support of Canadian Mental Health Association. This competition aims
to promote live music through a live band performance making the event
joyous and more exciting. It will also provide a platform for talented
musician to showcase their skills and recognize their work. Furthermore,
it will foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants,
regardless of musical genre or skill level. This event will embark on a fun
and memorable experience for all participants and attendees and support
a great cause (CMHA)
We will host Silent and live auctions throughout the evening and prior to
the bands starting their performances.
50/50 will be held in support of CMHA will take place both Friday and
Saturday.
There will be a $1,000.00 top spot and $500.00 for second
Enrty fee of 100 per band
Rules and Regulations
1. The band must have their original name.
2. The band must have 3-8 members. A band member can be a
part of only two bands.
3. Band members must observe proper dress code (free from
obscenities).
4. Prepare 3 songs of any genre but should be free from vulgar
or racist remarks. Bands can play the same songs.
5. Each band is required to submit their band name and
members ASAP to [email protected]
6. The band is required to be present at least 30 minutes before
their performance. If the band or band member is not yet present
15 minutes prior to the time, they will be disqualified.
7. Each band will be given 15 minutes to set-up their
instruments. One point will be deducted to their total score for
every minute excess.
8. Band members must bring their own personal instruments
and/or special effects.
9. The Bar will supply the sound system and sound person, and
the band can work with the sound person to adjust to what they
feel is required for there performance.
10. The band members will be accountable for any damage of the
event’s equipment and the financial cost thereof.
11. Band members are responsible for the security of their
equipment, and the event organizer cannot be held liable for any
lost, damaged, or stolen equipment.
12. If the band incites any sort of violence in the group, to the
organizers, staff, judges and audience, the band will be
immediately disqualified and/or the performance will be stopped.
13. Minimum of three (6) bands must join the competition or else
it will be dissolved.
$100 CASH DEPOSIT TO REGISTER A BAND WHICH WILL BE RETURNED NIGHT OF PERFORMANCE
