The City of Richmond’s 19th Annual Sisters in Solidarity International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration will be held on Saturday, March 7th, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium. The IWD 2026 Give To Gain Campaign encourages a mindset of generosity and collaboration. It emphasizes the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organizations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase.
Whether through donations, knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, advocacy, education, training, mentoring, or time, contributing to women's advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world.
What will you Give to Gain gender equality?
We are also seeking nominations for the 2026 Irma L. Anderson Legacy Award, to be presented at our event to a deserving woman committed to excellence and to giving back to the community. In 2024, we began honoring the late former Mayor Irma L. Anderson, a pioneering leader in Richmond and beyond. She inspired many, especially women in public service and public health, and lived by Shirley Chisholm’s words: “Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth.”

La 19.ª celebración anual del Día Internacional de la Mujer (DIM) de Hermanas en Solidaridad de la Ciudad de Richmond se llevará a cabo el sábado 7 de marzo, de 10:00 a 12:00 p en el Auditorio de Richmond.
La Campaña "Dar para Ganar" del DIM 2026 fomenta una mentalidad de generosidad y colaboración. Enfatiza el poder de la reciprocidad y el apoyo. Cuando las personas, organizaciones y comunidades donan generosamente, aumentan las oportunidades y el apoyo para las mujeres.
