Dearest friends, You are cordially invited to attend our 1850's summer picnic within the heart of Rochester on Sunday 7th June 2026.
Join us for an 1850's summer picnic under the view of Charles Dickens famous writing chalet!
The Society will grace the gardens of Eastgate House for a day of Victorian refinement. The Society will move on to Rochester Cathedral Gardens for photographs before finishing back at Eastgate House for a game of croquet and various other victorian outdoor games.
A first of many events for our society. Please bring your own food, beverages and blankets. There is Lenny's of Eastgate cafe located within Eastgate Gardens where you will also be able to purchase refreshments.
This event is in collaboration with local Dickensian groups in hopes of reviving the Rochester Dickens Summer Festival.
There will be various entertainment within Eastgate House itself.
