What stories/lessons have you inherited from the women in your lives - mothers, grandmas, great-grandmas, literary ancestors - that wait to flow through you? In this feminist memory workshop, we will sit with (the photographs of ) these women in a re-membering ritual, and in writing, to gather what arrives for us. Together, we will explore how these intimate memories shape us and our understanding of the world, and the collective legacy we are building.
Participants need to bring photograph(s) of the women who they feel have made them or objects tied to their memories in the workshop.
Donation Ticketing:
Accessibility is a core value of Per°Form Open Academy. Tickets to all programmes at Per°Form Open Academy will be on a donation basis, starting at a minimum suggested donation of $10 per ticket (excluding the platform fee).
If you are in a position to give more, please consider further contributions towards this and future iterations of Per°Form Open Academy. Your contributions, no matter big or small, help us mount Per°Form Open Academy and enable a gathering of arts practitioners and cultural innovators from the Global South in Singapore. However, if you are unable to make the minimum donation amount, please consider donating a fellow a cup of coffee at $5.

About Per°Form Open Academy of Arts and Activations
(POA) returns for its second iteration in April 2024. It is a live gathering of 15 Per°Form Fellows from the Global South—Africa, Arab world, Asia, and South America. These fellows, intersectional practitioners across diverse disciplines of activism, film, fashion, design, curation, research, education, visual culture, spoken word, performance, will present their strategies for activating contexts and communities. The 15th Per°Form Fellow from Singapore is Endless Return, a visceral platform of ravers - performance, dance, sound, and conceptual artists - known for their raw, irreverent, unexpected, and migratory pop-up parties.
With an 18-day programming, this year's POA expands its range beyond keynotes, workshops and the marathon to include Per°Form Open Academy Rave and Per°Form Open Academy Studios.
