Come have some Gaeilge fun while raising funds for Nationwide Children's Hospital Pediatric Oncology Unit! Try your hand at getting the lowest amount of throws between cornhole, horseshoes and darts.
$5 a round, buy as many rounds as you want until you get the score you like. If you wear a coat, hat or gloves for the outside events they must be worn for darts. Bonus points for creative dress. One point off per round for various crazy articles of clothing. NO SPEEDOS! >:-)) (Yes, this has happened!) Kilts, sandals, flippers, PJs, gorilla suits, etc. are encouraged. ;-)
**No preregistration needed--just show up!
**If you're not a member, that's OK! $5 will get you a social membership for the entire year! (That means you can come hang out at our amazing Irish pub whenever you want!)
In 2008, the International Irish Triathlon was created by part of the Berkemer clan--persuaded by the loving embrace of Jameson and Guinness while sitting in the pub at the Shamrock Club of Columbus. A trifecta of ridiculousness to spice up a frigid Ohio February day. Join us for some (hopefully snowy) cornhole, horseshoes and darts. (And maybe some improv sledding!)
Now the event is held every year in honor of the late, great, local Irishman Mark Dempsey. It raises funds for Nationwide Children's Hospital's Pediatric Cancer Unit in honor of Mark's grandson, pediatric cancer survivor and superhero, Logan Kinzel!
100% of funds raised are donated directly to the hospital's pediatric oncology unit in Columbus, Ohio.
