Shenandoah University's McCormick Civil War Institute will commemorate the 162nd anniversary of the Battle of Cool Spring on Saturday, July 18, with a special tour and program--"Coming Like a Meteor": Artillery at Cool Spring. The program, FREE and open to the public, will begin at the Lodge at 9:30 a.m. Jonathan Noyalas (Hugh & Virginia McCormick Chair in Civil War History and Director of Shenandoah University's McCormick Civil War Institute) will lead a walking tour focused on artillery during the battle. The program, which will last approximately two hours, will include an immersive artillery experience with historian Alan Robertson, providing participants a hands-on artillery experience.
