Pilgrim will celebrate 161 years of service to our Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 23. There will also be select Founder’s Day activities on Sunday June 30. The Founder’s Day theme is “Unified in Christ for 161 years”. The preacher for the 10:00 am worship service will be the Rev. William Englund who is the Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Saint Paul. Pilgrim and First Baptist have a longstanding relationship. The congregation of First Baptist sponsored Pilgrim prior to Pilgrim becoming chartered.
As is our custom, each member of Pilgrim is encouraged to give one dollar for each year of Pilgrim’s service - $161. The Founder’s Day service and activities will include the recognition of longtime members, a presentation by Genealogist Elyse Pearson-Hill who’s work led to Pilgrim being recognized as the first Network to Freedom site in Minnesota, presentations on Pilgrim’s Unsung Heroes, a Fellowship meal and a special production by Pilgrim’s new Creative Expression Ministry.
