About this Event
Online platforms and the digital space are increasingly being used to perpetrate domestic abuse, with abusive partners or ex partners using technology to control, harass or intimidate victim survivors.
Online abuse can happen over long periods and escalates over time and can include behaviours such as monitoring social media profiles or emails, abuse over social media platforms, sharing intimate photos or videos without consent, or using GPS locators to monitor live locations. Recent research from the Victim’s Commissioner (2022) found that 40% of victims of cyber stalking reported that they experienced this for more than 2 years.
Join the West Sussex County Council Digital Safety and Fraud Prevention Team as they are joined by Southeast Reginal Crime Unit as we raise awareness of tech abuse, by empowering women and girls to understand what it is and what steps to take to secure their digital devices and platforms against potential tech abuse from a partner or ex-partner.
We look forward to welcoming you to this 1.5-hour webinar during 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence.
