About this Event
In 2011, two Buccaneer restoration groups aiming for the same goal joined forces to become The Buccaneer Aviation Group, with aircraft XX894 and XW544, returning them both to full running condition.
At this event, the team plans to taxi at least one aircraft, where you will get close access to the start-up sequence and a hydraulic demonstration, which will give great photographic opportunities. The aircraft will then perform a taxi out on the runway before heading back to the crowdline for shutdown.
After an hour's lunch, where you will be able to have a bite to eat at the AV8 Cafe and view some of the airport's other exhibits, such as a Hunter T.8C and Canberra PR.9, you will be invited airside, where you will be able to get up close and personal with both Buccaneers. Our team of dedicated, knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to talk all things Buccaneer and to answer any questions you might have.
Our Buccaneer cockpit XW550 will be open for cockpit tours along with our shop full of Buccaneer-related merchandise!
Gates to the event will open at 10:00 am, with the engine run starting a little bit later on. A couple of cockpit sections are also planning on attending the event. The event will end around 16:30 pm.
