BEFORE THE LAST CALL EQUINE THERAPY PROGRAM

CONTINUED SERVICE

Our mission is to help our heroes––the men and women who give so much of themselves to keep our community and loved ones safe—heal from Post-Traumatic Stress through the power of horses and nature.

Before the Last Call was founded as an Equine Therapy program committed to providing therapeutic horsemanship to our community’s first responders and veterans. Participants and their families are welcomed, free of charge, to visit our ranch located just 30 minutes west of Rochester, NY.

Working with horses provides participants the opportunity to discover new ways to process overwhelming sensory and emotional experiences, control reactivity, form healthy boundaries, alleviate anxiety and stress, and build self-confidence. This process also allows our horses to teach our participants to be present, and builds a cohesive relationships allowing barriers to break and trust to grow.

FREE Therapeutic Horsemanship sessions are offered daily. Staffed by volunteer First Responders and Veterans, the program provides a variety of non-traditional forms of therapy. Participants have access to riding lessons, trail rides and a recently kicked off Music Therapy program. Employment Assistance Program (EAP) is also available to all participants. Thanks to the sponsorship of Salvatore’s Saloon we are able to provide a “Healing with a Slice” to provide participants the program in a social gathering.

Our unique program is becoming a One Stop Shop for our heroes to find nontraditional forms of therapy run by fellow First Responders and Veterans.

THE SUNNY MIKE FOUNDATION

Connect veterans to programs

The Sunny Mike Foundation believes that all veterans deserve to be seen, heard and cared for. By partnering with other institutions, we want to connect veterans who need them to health and wellness programs so that they can continue to lead healthy, happy and fulfilled lives after their active service.

Provide financial assistance

We provide personalized care for individuals who have fallen on hard times. Sometimes, all that people need is a little extra help to get them back on their feet. We believe that financial assistance, to care for family and self, can help veterans who need it.

Create a Community of Care

As our community of veterans grows and our connections to outreach programs become stronger, we are actively forming a network of trust and support. All friends and collaborators of the Sunny Mike Foundation raise each other up. Through this community, we are able to impact more lives in meaningful ways.

The new memorial located southeast of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial of Greater Rochester in Gary Beikirch Memorial Park.

The War on Terror Memorial was dedicated on September 11, 2021, the twentieth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. About THE AMERICAN LEGION GREECE POST 468

Service. Patriotism. Camaraderie.

Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth

There are many reasons why military veterans join The American Legion. Continue your service today with the nation’s largest veterans service organization. The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization. Focusing on service to veterans, service members and communities, the Legion evolved from a group of war-weary veterans of World War I into one of the most influential nonprofit groups in the United States. Membership swiftly grew to over 1 million, and local posts sprang up across the country. Today, membership stands at over 2.4 million in 14,000 posts worldwide. The posts are organized into 55 departments: one each for the 50 states, along with the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, France, Mexico and the Philippines.
Over the years, the Legion has influenced considerable social change in America, won hundreds of benefits for veterans and produced many important programs for children and youth.
