This charity event hosted by the AAPOAA was established in remeberance of Officer Smith who lost her life in the line of duty. This event also sheds light on domestic violence and the importance of continuing to support DV survivors.
As we move into the16th year since we lost a hero, we are proud to honor Officer Jillian M. Smith. Please join us as we celebrate her dedication to our community and her commitment to making a difference.
On December 28, 2010 Officer Jillian Smith was shot and killed while responding to a domestic assault call. In celebration of Jillianโs legacy, the African American Peace Officers Association of Arlington have created the Jillian Smith Fund to honor her leadership qualities and heroism. This fund provides financial assistance to domestic violence survivors who are in transition.
Jillian was born in Arlington, TX and attended Arlington Independent School District schools graduating from Seguin High School in 2005. She attended the University of Arlington Texas where she graduated Cum Laude in 2009.
