Please join us for a free, engaging discussion on Playfulness, Humor, and Some Philosophy: Thinking Seriously About Thinking Playfully. This lecture will feature keynote speaker, Chris Kramer, an Assistant Professor and Chair of Philosophy at Santa Barbara City College. He has written on the philosophy of education, mind, religion, informal logic, existentialism and phenomenology, oppression, and the philosophy of humor. His dissertation was on "Subversive Humor", half about humor, half about oppression. Readers will laugh and cry, but mostly cry, and mostly because they are reading a dissertation; what has become of their lives? He lives with his family in Santa Barbara, CA.
Location: RVC Main Campus - Physical Education Center (PEC) Gym. This event is open to the public with a Q&A session to follow. For more information, please contact Michelle Rotert, PhD Professor of Philosophy at [email protected] or (815) 921-3354.
