TOPIC
We will be focusing on a topic that sits at the heart of the new AML/CTF regime:
Getting the Risk Assessment Right – The Foundation of Your AML Program
Rather than revisiting the basics, this session will take a practical, real-world approach to how firms should actually be approaching AML risk, and why getting this foundation right makes everything else significantly easier.
We’ll cover:
- How to build a Firm Wide Risk Assessment (FWRA) based on what your firm actually does (not just templates)
- The common mistakes we’re seeing across accounting firms, and how to avoid them
- A simple and practical way to assess Likelihood and Impact
- How to define a clear Risk Appetite that drives consistent decisions across your firm
- How FWRA, Risk Appetite and Controls all link together in practice
- Real-life scenarios to show how this applies in day-to-day client work
This session is designed to help you move from:
“We have an AML document”
To
“We have a framework that actually guides decisions in our firm”
